Free Tai Chi Classes

Lane Cove Tourist Park is proud to announce the introduction of a free Tai Chi class taking place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 8am. Each class will run for about 30 minutes and will be easy to join and follow for guests and visitors of all ages. The first class starts on Tuesday 20 September 2011 so come and be part of the fun!

Traditional Aboriginal Cultural Performances

Our indigenous artists are back for another season of amazing Traditional Aboriginal Cultural Performances kicking off on Wednesday 21 September 2011 at 6.30pm under the gumtrees on our Banksia Lawn. Performances will regularly happen each Wednesday evening throughout Summer, weather permitting.

So bring along a rug to sit on & take part in a traditional welcome, listen to some stories & learn a traditional dance or a song or two. The event is free & is brought to you by the National Parks & Wildlife Service & the Tribal Warrior Association.

Andrew Daff and the staff of the Lane Cove River Tourist Park would also like to take this opportunity of thanking our two performers for their willing participation in continuing this wonderful community activity.

We cordially invite all of our friends, supporters and guests to our annual open day.
This year we will be celebrating World Park’s Day and our Family Fun Day will be our Biggest ever!

As usual, there will be:
FREE entry to the event;
FREE sausage sizzle lunch;
FREE Indigenous Cultural Performance by Tribal Warrior;
FREE Tai Chi Lesson;
FREE native plants (1 per family);
FREE kids activities;
FREE Bush band entertainment;

PLUS loads of socially responsible and environmentally friendly products and services.

We will also be launching our new water treatment system, and our solar canvas awning – both of these initiatives are world firsts, so make sure you don’t miss out.

See you here on Saturday 17^th September between 10:00am – 2:30pm – remember to be green and use the 545 bus from Chatswood or Parramatta, or try the new North Ryde Train Station.

Just wanted to pass on our thanks for a wonderful stay at your tourist park facility. We have two young daughters (4.5 and almost 2) and travelled from Orange NSW for a two night stay in Sydney. We found the 2 bedroom cabin to be perfect for our needs. We were able to provide home cooked meals for our girls on both nights, we found it very quiet and peaceful, we were able to go for a walk in bushland surrounds and feed some apple to a possum, yet we were so central!! It was a great adventure for us to walk fro the tourist park to ther Nth ryde station, catch a train into the city, then a ferry, visit the aquarium and the wildlife park, then another train ride back to Nth Ryde all in one day.

We highly recommend the park to friends and family.

Hi. Thanks for your support and compliments:)
You'll have to remind me to do a page about the wildlife walks:)
We call them spotlight tours/walks. They run on Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings starting at 7.30pm (more often during holiday periods).
There's a wildlife talk first and then, when it's dark, guests are guided through the tourist park to spot some of our local inhabitants. Of which we have many. mainly brush tail possums but also a good number of bandicoots & ring tail possums. There is a very good video of mine of a possum on You Tube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEeNkDseQXk Enjoy!

Home and Away are back filming at Lane Cove River Tourist Park. Come and stay at Summer Bay Caravan Park!

Some more news on Lane Cove River Tourist Park being used as the film set for Home And Away.
We are the new location for Summer Bay Caravan Park and the news is that they are utilizing even more areas of the Tourist Park as settings for episodes of the popular series.
And this means that if you come and stay with us there is even more chance of you being able to camp exactly where the filming is done!

When you're staying with us we always suggest using public transport to see many of the attractions that make Sydney special.
One of these special tourist attractions is Taronga Zoo.
To reach Taronga Zoo from us you just need to walk down the road for ten minutes to reach North Ryde train station. From there you can get a train directly to the city. Get out at Wynyard station and take the short walk down to Circular Quay. Catch one of the regular ferries across to the zoo.
When you reach the zoo ferry wharf take the cable car to the top entrance of the zoo and work your way through the zoo down the hill, finally exiting through the bottom exit right at the ferry terminal.
Catch a ferry back to Circular Quay and then back to us via the train. A great day out for all the family!
